    Types of plans available

    Feature Overview
    Minimum Payment £8pm / £80 annually or £12pm / £120 annually including indexation.
    Plan types 1. Single life, 2. Joint-life first death and 3. Joint life second death.
    Guaranteed payments Payments will stay the same for the duration of the plan.
    Indexation of benefit Life cover will increase automatically each year in line with rises in the Average Weekly Earnings (AWE).
    Special event benefit Cover can be increased within certain limits without having to provide any more details about health or activities.
    Trusts Yes
    Waiver of payment benefit Premium payments will be maintained if the life assured is incapacitated by illness or injury.
    Free Cover Up to 90 days free cover available up to £1,000,000 (criteria and limits apply).
  • Application

    To access our online services to obtain quotes, submit applications and view your clients' pipeline, please click the 'Quote and apply' link. You can download the data collection form below.


    • The plan can cover one person or two people jointly. If it covers one person they must be aged between 16 and 83 when the plan starts.
    • If the plan covers two people, your client can choose to have the life cover paid after one dies or after both have died.
    • For the plan to pay out when the first person dies, the maximum age the older person can be when the plan starts is 69.
    • For the plan to pay out when the second person dies, the maximum age the older person can be when the plan starts is 83.
    • Your client must be resident in the United Kingdom to take out a plan and intend to stay here.
  • Account management

    For all plan amendments you should contact your Zurich Business Account Manager directly, or call us on 08085 546 546 and we’ll be happy to help.

    You may need to update your clients’ information due to changing circumstances, for example increasing the amount of cover your client has. This is called the ‘special event benefit’ and your client must be 54 or younger when they want to use it (except for increasing inheritance tax liability cover, when you client must be 69 or younger). If the plan covers two people, the age limit applies to the older person. Your client can do this if they:

    • Increase their mortgage
    • Marry
    • Divorce
    • Enter into a civil partnership
    • End a civil partnership
    • Become the natural parent of a child
    • Legally adopt a child
    • Increase your inheritance tax liability
    • Have a salary increase of 10% or more following a promotion or change of job
    • Increase your business assurance needs
    • End the business partnership relationship between the two people covered by the plan
    • Enter into a new commercial loan or increase an existing one.

    • life or critical illness cases above £350,000 or where the monthly premium is £250 or more
    • a dedicated large case underwriting team for life or critical cases above £350,000 sum assured
    • a 24-hour turnaround, pre-planning service, pre-application medicals, individual case management, and a choice of own doctor or flexible private medicals – for cases above £1 million sum assured or with monthly premiums of £250 or more
