Registering and using Zurich Services

To be able to use the Life Protection Platform, or off-platform investments (Plan Enquiry, CEB2B) services, you need to register your firm with Zurich.

If you haven't already done so, you'll need to sign up to Zurich's Terms of Business through Origo.

If you have already done this, you can register with each service as described below.

  • Register to Zurich Protection Services

Register my firm for Life Protection Platform

    • Step 1: Create a Zurich Services username

In order to set up a firm, you have to nominate and register an administrator. To find out what an administrator's role is, see the relevant section in the FAQs.

If you are a current Protection Hub user, you can use that username when setting up the administrator. If you’re not sure what this is, more information is available in the Find my current Protection Hub username section in the FAQs below.

The administrator username can only be used once per Firm Reference Number (FRN) being set up. If you need to be an administrator on multiple FRNs, then you should carefully consider which FRN you want your existing username linked to. Your existing username must match up with the FRN’s Financial Conduct Authority number.

If you don't have a username or you don't want to use your current username for the administrator, you can create one by registering for Zurich Services through the links below.

Before moving to Step 2, you must know your username.

FAQs

Find my current Zurich Services username

If you are already registered for Zurich Services (limited at present to LPP, off-platform investments Plan Enquiry and CEB2B) then you can use that same username/Unipass certificate across these three services so long as the firm that you are acting for is the same as the firm FCA number that your account is registered under.

To find out your Zurich Services Username:

  • If you're a username/password user then it's the credentials that you use to sign in to LPP, or off-platform investments (Plan Enquiry, CEB2B) services. If you're not sure what your username is, please contact eSupport.
  • If you have a Unipass certificate, then please contact eSupport.

What access do advisers have on LPP?

Advisers have access to quote, apply/submit business, review pipeline, activate policies and enact contractual change on the clients’ policies.

What access do paraplanners have on LPP?

This role gives access to all, or specified advisers in their firm to work on their behalf. They cannot set up other paraplanners or administrators. They also won't be able to manage their own rights or permissions. Only the administrator has the ability to do this.

What access do administrators have on LPP?

This is a 'Super User' role and can set up new paraplanners and administrators. They can also manage paraplanner access to advisers to set their rights and permissions and to view commission statements (these are the only users who can view the commission statements). All firms should have at least one administrator.

The administrator cannot quote and apply for business unless they give themselves paraplanner rights. For sole trader firms, we recommend that the administrator account is set up with paraplanner rights and authorised to process business on behalf of the adviser account. The adviser will still need to register as an adviser.

Moving to our new service

A little more about the new service, timescales, and difference one can expect

Our new service, powered by OKTA, supports the use of one security question. It also imposes some restrictions on what are acceptable answers. Consequently when your account is moved over to the new service, you may find that the primary security question/response that you used on our legacy service is no longer valid. If not, then you will be unable to reset your password yourself, you will instead need to contact eSupport so that they can take you through a process that will both reset your password and create a valid security question and response. Once this has been done, you will be able to reset your password yourself the next time you are prompted to do so.

What is unipass?

UNIPASS, from Origo Secure Internet Services Ltd, creates a unique online identity for use on multiple UK financial services websites on any device and is free to end users. UNIPASS Identity provides you with one secure online account which you can then use to log in to multiple financial services websites.

With your UNIPASS Identity account you can download and store a UNIPASS Certificate (a small encrypted file on your PC which is used to uniquely identify you) but you will also have a UNIPASS Username / Passphrase that you can use on mobile devices to help you conduct business whilst you are on the move.

The benefit to UNIPASS customers is that Portals and Product Providers who support UNIPASS will accept your UNIPASS certificate and UNIPASS Username / Passphrase without you having to setup and remember a new identity on their website, thereby making secure access to their systems much simpler.

If you would like more information about UNIPASS digital certificates, or better still, would like to apply for one, please visit www.unipass.co.uk. Remember, UNIPASS identity is free to end users.

Browsers, bookmarks and auto-complete

If for convenience, rather than click through the links on this site, you have bookmarked links or saved them in your favourites then you may find that they no longer work. If this is the case, then you can replace/update them by right-clicking and choosing “Copy link address” (Google Chrome) or “Copy Shortcut” (Internet Explorer).

As some of the registration pages are now hosted elsewhere if you have used any auto complete options then these will no longer work. Remember to save the details again if you like to use this function.

Issues signing in / forgotten password

If you see a “Sign in failed!” message and you are confident that you have entered the correct username and passphrase, then it is likely that your account was previously locked by failed attempts.

You should have received an email stating this, but if this is the case with your account, then please contact eSupport who will be able to unlock your account and allow you to reset your password.

If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it via one of two methods:

  • Reset via Email - an email with a link will be sent to you that has to be used within 1 hour
  • Contacting eSupport
